Job Summary
The Assistant Director of Residential Services supports the Residential Director in the day-to-day oversight of residential program services for individuals with IDD. This role helps ensure high-quality, person-centered care that complies with agency policy and state/federal regulatory standards, provides leadership and supervision to residential staff, and assumes operational authority in the Director's absence.
Position Pay Level
$70,000 annual salary plus a $3,000 annual bonus opportunity.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists the Residential Director in overseeing all aspects of residential operational services, following agency standard.
- Supports recruitment, training, scheduling, and supervision of residential staff/providers; leads the team in the Director's absence.
- Participates in performance evaluations, addresses employee concerns, and implements progressive disciplinary action as needed.
- Reviews attendance, billing data, and payroll to ensure accurate tracking and utilization of billable units.
- Assists in preparing and submitting required monthly reports and documentation in a timely, accurate manner.
- Helps ensure services provided to participants align with agency standards and applicable IDD regulations (HCBS waiver requirements, person-centered planning, etc.).
- Maintains proactive communication with staff to support alignment, resolve conflicts, and support In-Home Service providers in their essential functions.
- Communicates and coordinates regularly with Administration, Nursing, Compliance, Accounting, and HR to support program operations.
- Provides administrative support for meetings, including scheduling and preparation of materials.
- Manages SCC calendars
- Ensures timely renewal of ISSPs/BISSPs
- Assists in coordinating staff development and community outreach opportunities.
- Creates participant files and folders to help maintain state compliance.
- Acts with authority on behalf of the Residential Director when the Director is unavailable, including responding to urgent staffing or participant needs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Social Work, Business Administration, or related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
- 2+ years of experience in residential or IDD services, including at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
- Management experience overseeing a team of 5–10 staff.
- Working knowledge of state and federal IDD/HCBS regulatory requirements and person-centered service delivery.
- Strong leadership, conflict-resolution, and decision-making skills; ability to exercise independent judgment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Outlook and SharePoint
- Experience with billing, scheduling, and documentation/tracking systems.
- A positive, can-do attitude with a strong sense of ownership and initiative
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and ability to pass required background checks (including CAPS check).
Work Environment / Physical Requirements
- Ability to travel between residential sites as needed.
- May require flexibility for evenings, weekends, or on-call availability to support staff coverage or respond to participant emergencies.
Pay: $70,000.00 per year
