Job Title: Wastewater & Drinking Water Technician
Reports To: Water and Wastewater Manager
Direct Reports: N/A
Status: Non-Exempt
Purpose:
The Wastewater & Drinking Water Technician monitors the systems that safely treat the wastewater plant at our World Class Resort. The Wastewater & Drinking Water Associate is responsible of the specifications for pumping and lifting systems that bring wastewater to the treatment plants and the flow of the wastewater through the system, according to federal, state, and local regulations and environmental guidelines.
Essential Functions:
- Manage, monitor, and maintain monthly inspections of all wells, cisterns, Nano Plant readings; add chemicals as needed.
- Responsible of test samples and test systems, and the functionality of pumps, conveyors, blowers, and other equipment.
- Monitor water resources and identify issues.
- Monitor water efficiency programs.
- Monitor drinking or wastewater lift stations.
- Provide technical support on water resource and treatment issues to the Waste & Wastewater Manager.
- Coordinate and communicate with the Waste & Wastewater Manager of new task, work order completion, and inventory.
- Conduct water quality studies to identify and characterize water pollutant sources.
- Willing to facilitate and assist in area of technical expertise.
- Deliver a warm greeting when following-up with guest and employees regarding drinking water support.
- Represent our World Class Resort by demonstrating competence and taking pride in your work.
- Create and maintain a peaceful environment; promote teamwork and collaboration.
- Acknowledge and welcome all guests according to The Buccaneer’s company standards.
- Eager to develop skills as an ambassador of our World Class Resort.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Wastewater treatment certification combined with five (5) years of proven experience in related field.
- Postsecondary certificate or degree in water treatment, preferred.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds, bend, stretch, and stand for an extended period.
- Ability to prioritize and organize work assignments.
- Ability to work under pressure and exercise good judgment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of The Buccaneer Hotel guests, proprietary, and pertinent hotel information.
- Ability to ensure security of guest.
- Ability to carry out specific oral and written instructions.
- Must have valid driver’s license.
- Ability to workdays, nights, and weekends.
- Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
- Basic computer skills, a plus.
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
