ReloMetrics is looking for an Engineering Manager to join our team, specifically focusing on our Core and Growth verticals within the Relo Metrics Engineering division. As we scale, we need a people leader and daily technical leader to take over the day-to-day management of these critical teams, ensuring seamless delivery and professional growth for our engineers.
You will oversee two distinct teams:
- Core Team: Focused on the general platform, background analysis, and data annotation.
- Growth Team: Focused on client-facing initiatives and expansion.
This role reports directly to the VP of Engineering and plays a pivotal role in the delivery of our high-performance engineering organization.
Note: This role is considered remote as we do not have an office in Dallas, however we require someone to be in commutable distance to this area.
What You'll Achieve
Lead and Mentor Dual Engineering Teams: Take full day-to-day management and people leadership ownership of 8 direct reports across the distinct Core and Growth engineering squads.
Drive Professional Growth & Excellence: Foster the long-term career development of your engineers through impactful mentorship, structured 1:1s, and regular performance reviews.
Scale the Engineering Organization: Lead the evolution of the engineering recruitment pipeline, designing robust hiring processes and comprehensive onboarding guides as the team scales.
Deliver Seamless Project Scoping: Partner closely with Product Management to prioritize, technically design, and scope upcoming features, aligning technical execution with broader business goals.
Optimize Development Processes: Continuously evaluate engineering workflows, identifying and implementing key process improvements to boost project efficiency and velocity.
Maintain Codebase Proximity: Stay close to the state-of-the-art technology stack by actively contributing code to the codebase alongside your team when necessary to unblock milestones.
Accelerate Internal AI Workflow Adoption: Develop, refine, and champion the complete integration of AI-driven workflows across the engineering org to maximize productivity.
Bridge Technical Execution and Business Revenue: Collaborate cross-functionally with the Optimization (CV/Data Analysis) and Product teams, seamlessly connecting engineering milestones to monetary and revenue outcomes.
Technical Core & Cloud Infrastructure: Strong proficiency in Python alongside practical experience building and maintaining scalable, cloud-based environments (ideally within the AWS ecosystem).
Cross-Functional Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
Complex Problem Solving: A strategic and critical thinker who thrives in ambiguity and can efficiently break down complex engineering problems into actionable steps.
Leadership & Management Background: 1–2+ years of experience leading technology teams, either as a hands-on Technical Lead or Engineering Manager.
Core Software Engineering Experience: 3–5 years of professional, hands-on experience in Software Engineering or AI/ML environments.
Domain Expertise: Strong familiarity or direct experience with Computer Vision (CV), Data Analysis, or general platform scaling.
Distributed Team Management: Prior experience managing globally distributed engineering teams or overseeing third-party contractors is a significant plus.
Technical Education: A Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a closely related technical field.
