Safely move cargo between trucks, shipping containers, or vessels using material-handling equipment like forklifts, pallet jacks, or skid steers.
Sort and categorize incoming and outgoing shipments based on destination and priority.
Use straps or poles to secure loads inside trailers.
Pick up and re-stack material and stack on pallets, re-secure with banding and clips.
Review packing lists and bills of lading; inspect good for damage and quality, log inventory, and report discrepancies to management.
Follow strict OSHA and DOT safety regulations, operate machinery cautiously and keep dock area clean of debris.
Additional responsibilities as necessary.
Requirements:
Ability to stand or walk for long periods on hard surfaces.
Frequently lift, push, or pull heavy freight (often 50 to 100 lbs).
Experience operating forklifts and skid steers preferred.
High School Diploma or GED required.
Availability to work various shifts, including early mornings and possibly weekends or holidays.
Bi-lingual preferred.
Hours are 7:30 am to 4:30pm Monday thru Friday, with overtime varying between 6am or weekends/later evenings as necessary.
Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
