Overview

In this role, you will be responsible for reupholstering, repairing, and maintaining the interior furnishings of automobiles, including seats, panels, and other fabric or leather components. Your skills will help ensure each vehicle meets high standards of quality, comfort, and aesthetic appeal. Responsibilities
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to accurately reupholster vehicle interiors according to manufacturer standards.
- Use hand tools, pneumatic tools, power tools, sewing machines, and manual cutting equipment to cut fabric materials and assemble upholstery components.
- Reupholster seats, door panels, dashboards, and other interior elements with leather or fabric materials while ensuring proper fit and finish.
- Repair and maintain existing upholstery by replacing worn or damaged sections using appropriate techniques.
- Handle heavy lifting safely during the removal and installation of large or bulky upholstery parts.
- Apply woodworking skills when necessary for frame repairs or modifications within vehicle interiors.
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and quality control procedures throughout the manufacturing or auto restoration process.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated attention to detail with a focus on precision in upholstery work.
- Proven experience in reupholstering using upholstery techniques specific to automotive interiors.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, pneumatic tools, power tools, sewing machines, and manual cutting equipment.
- Knowledge of fabric materials such as leather and textiles used in vehicle interiors.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications accurately.
- Experience with woodworking or carpentry related to vehicle interior modifications is a plus.
- Strong manual handling skills for heavy lifting tasks associated with automotive upholstery projects.
- Familiarity with auto restoration processes or manufacturing environments is desirable.
