Duties
- Maintain cleanliness by washing dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment following food safety sanitizing procedures
- Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, including basic chopping, portioning, and organizing ingredients
- Support bussing duties by clearing tables promptly and resetting dining areas efficiently
- Ensure proper manual handling techniques when lifting heavy items such as bulk supplies or large pots to promote safety
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and responsibly, including dishwashers and other small appliances
- Follow sanitation standards to uphold kitchen health and safety regulations at all times
- Help maintain overall cleanliness of the dining area, kitchen stations, and storage spaces through regular cleaning routines
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred but not required; eagerness to learn is key!
- Knowledge of food safety management and sanitation practices is advantageous
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely, including heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking
- Familiarity with operating basic kitchen equipment and dishwashing machinery is a plus
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on cleanliness, organization, and hygiene standards
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Prior catering or food handling experience can enhance your ability to succeed in this role
