Behavioral Health Technician
Elevated Healing Treatment Centers is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and motivated Behavioral Health Technician to join our growing PHP/IOP team. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about helping individuals recovering from mental health and substance use disorders while working in a collaborative, client-centered environment.
As a Behavioral Health Technician, you will play an important role in creating a safe, structured, and supportive treatment environment while assisting the clinical team with daily program operations.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and support clients throughout the treatment day.
- Foster a safe, respectful, and therapeutic treatment environment.
- Assist with client admissions, orientations, and discharge processes.
- Conduct observed drug and alcohol testing as needed.
- Document client observations, incidents, and other required information in the EMR.
- Monitor client attendance, participation, and adherence to program expectations.
- Utilize crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques when appropriate.
- Support clinicians, therapists, and case managers with daily program operations.
- Assist with meal coordination, group preparation, and other program activities.
- Transport clients when required (if applicable).
- Maintain facility cleanliness, organization, and safety.
- Communicate client concerns promptly to the clinical team.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and HIPAA compliance at all times.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience working in behavioral health, mental health, substance use treatment, PHP, IOP, residential treatment, detox, or sober living preferred.
- Knowledge of substance use disorders, mental health, and recovery principles preferred.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional during crisis situations.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team.
- Valid California Driver's License and reliable transportation required.
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
- RADT, SUDRC, CADC, or related credential preferred (or willingness to obtain).
Compensation
- $19.00–$22.00 per hour, based on experience.
