Duties
- Efficiently wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment following food safety sanitizing procedures
- Assist with food preparation tasks as needed to support the kitchen team
- Clear and bus tables promptly to maintain cleanliness in dining areas
- Operate dishwashing machines and other kitchen equipment safely and correctly
- Handle manual lifting of heavy pots, trays, and supplies in accordance with health and safety standards
- Maintain strict sanitation standards by cleaning workstations, sinks, floors, and storage areas regularly
- Support overall kitchen cleanliness by disposing of waste properly and ensuring proper storage of clean items
Skills
- Knowledge of food handling practices and food safety management procedures
- Experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Familiarity with dishwashing techniques and operating commercial kitchen equipment
- Strong understanding of sanitation protocols and kitchen health & safety standards
- Basic knife skills for assisting with food prep when required
- Excellent manual handling skills with attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness standards
