Duties
- Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival, creating a welcoming environment.
- Collect and verify patient demographic information, insurance details, and medical history using patient management software and electronic health records (EHR).
- Register new patients accurately while updating existing patient records with current information.
- Explain health insurance policies, co-payments, and billing procedures clearly to patients.
- Schedule appointments efficiently using medical appointment scheduling systems while managing cancellations and follow-ups.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information in compliance with health regulation policies and HIPAA guidelines.
- Answer phone calls promptly, providing excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and directing calls appropriately.
- Support medical administrative tasks such as data entry, document scanning, and managing electronic health records (EHR).
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure seamless patient flow and communication throughout the facility.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel for documentation purposes.
- Knowledge of health regulation policies including HIPAA compliance to protect patient confidentiality.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, health insurance processes, and billing procedures.
- Experience with patient management software and electronic health records (EHR/EHR) systems is essential.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively via phone and in person.
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information discreetly while maintaining accuracy through typing and data entry skills.
- Office experience that showcases organizational skills and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
