Position Purpose:
The Manager, Pro Merchandising is responsible for supporting execution of a comprehensive go-to-market strategy for an assigned category tailored to the unique needs of Pro customers in the trades. This role is focused on vendor management, Pro merchandising strategy, assortment planning, field support, and partnering with the core merchandising team to ensure product offerings and strategies align with professional contractors in the trades sector. The Manager, Pro Merchandising Trades will be detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple tasks to help drive business growth and optimize category performance.
Key Responsibilities:
15% Assortment Selection - Execute business review of category on a regular basis to determine changes to product mix and better optimize Pro assortment within Flatbed Distribution Centers and Direct Fulfillment Centers. Partner with IPR and core merchandising to ensure product is available to support Outside Sales initiatives.
20% Cross-Functional Communication and Support - Partner with core merchandising to ensure assortment, inventory, and pricing strategies are aligned to support the complex Pro purchase. Provide excellent customer service by responding to outside salesforce with a sense of urgency. Collaborate with the outside sales team to understand Pro customer needs and provide tailored product solutions.
15% Financial Planning & Management - Implement financial strategy and cost structure in partnership with Pro Merchant and sets pricing.
25% Pro Merchandising Strategy Execution - Assist Pro Merchant in developing strategy for trades categories in partnership with Pro Merchandising leadership to best sell, source, and deliver the whole project for Pro customers. Develop and deliver product knowledge training and support supply chain initiatives
25% Vendor Relationship Management - Assist in maintaining supplier relationships for trades categories to provide the outside sales team with best-in-class product offerings for Pro customers. Support the Pro Merchant in negotiating terms and optimizing product selection and pricing.

Demonstrated experience in merchandising, retail planning, and inventory management
Understanding of the needs and dynamics of Pro customers in plumbing, electrical, and other trades
Comprehensive understanding of relevant products to make purchasing decisions
Experience managing a large number of regional and national suppliers simultaneously
Proven analytical and execution skills in a merchandising or retail environment
