The ASC Staff RN provides direct nursing care to patients by performing pre-operative assessment and preparing the patients for surgery in accordance with facility and organizational policies, meeting the standards of professional nursing practice, as well as intraoperative care and post-operative care. This person is accountable for using his/her experience and judgement/nursing skills to plan for the appropriate care for his/her patients. Consistently remains calm and applies judgement during stressful situations, always putting the needs of the patient first.

Follows all OSHA Safety, Fire and Emergency Preparedness guidelines.
Performs other functions as requested by the Nurse Manger to include but not limited to, stocking and maintaining adequate supply levels, end of day narcotic counts and patient chart reviews.
Collaborate with physicians on orders and reviews lab values, EKG’s and x-ray reports
Document care/charges that is given to patient
Provide prescribed medications and ither pharmaceutical products in accordance with physician’s orders
Remain prepared for emergency situations ensure to utilize correct emergency procedures, locations of emergency call system and location of emergency supplies and equipment
Administers medication and performs treatments to assigned patients
Participates in the maintenance of a clean and safe environment
Must possess a current, valid RN license in the state of practice.
Must have BLS Certification
CPR, ACLS and PALS certification is required
Two years of PACU, ICU, ER or OR experience is desired.
Ability to maintain composure under stressful conditions.
Thorough knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care appropriate to any age level and any level of growth and development.
Maintains current knowledge and skills in department policies and procedures and implements appropriately
Uses problem solving techniques in resolution of patient care issues.
Acts as a patient advocate.
