Position Summary
The Golf Course Manager is responsible for the overall daily operation, leadership, and financial success of Llano Grande Golf Course. This position provides hands-on leadership while overseeing all golf course departments, including the Pro Shop, Cart Barn, Kitchen, Bar, Golf Course Maintenance, and course operations.The Golf Course Manager is expected to lead by example, assist where needed, develop staff, improve the customer experience, increase revenue opportunities, and ensure the golf course operates efficiently, professionally, and in alignment with company standards and goals.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Operations
- Direct and oversee all daily golf course operations.
- Lead by example by working alongside team members when operational needs require.
- Maintain a visible presence throughout the property and remain informed on all golf course activities and operations.
- Make sound operational decisions that are in the best interest of both the golf course and the company.
- Ensure exceptional customer service is consistently provided to members, guests, and visitors.
- Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and professional environment throughout the facility.
- Ensure all departments work together efficiently to deliver an outstanding guest experience.
Staff Leadership
- Train, coach, and develop golf course employees.
- Provide leadership and direction to staff while promoting accountability and teamwork.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching and corrective action when necessary.
- Prepare and manage employee work schedules while controlling labor costs.
- Ensure staffing levels adequately support operational needs.
- Promote cross-training to improve operational flexibility and employee development.
Golf Course Maintenance
- Work closely with and provide leadership to the Greens Superintendent and Golf Course Maintenance Department.
- Assist in planning maintenance priorities in coordination with the Superintendent's professional expertise regarding agronomic practices.
- Remain informed on irrigation, turf conditions, equipment needs, chemical applications, projects, and overall course conditions.
- Ensure the course is maintained to company standards and provides an enjoyable playing experience.
Pro Shop
- Oversee daily Pro Shop operations.
- Ensure proper opening and closing procedures.
- Monitor inventory levels and merchandising opportunities.
- Assist with pricing strategies and retail promotions.
- Ensure accurate deposit preparation, cash handling and reporting procedures.
- Maintain excellent customer service standards.
Cart Barn
- Oversee daily Cart Barn operations.
- Ensure golf carts are properly cleaned, staged, charged, maintained, and available for play.
- Monitor fleet condition and coordinate repairs as necessary.
- Ensure all equipment is properly stored and maintained.
Kitchen & Bar Operations
- Oversee the daily operation of the kitchen and bar.
- Assist staff as needed during peak business periods.
- Monitor food and beverage quality and customer service.
- Ensure compliance with all health, sanitation, and safety regulations.
- Maintain inventory controls and assist with purchasing.
- Identify opportunities to improve menu offerings and increase food and beverage sales.
Golf Operations
- Coordinate all aspects of daily golf play.
- Schedule tee times and ensure efficient pace of play.
- Organize and promote tournaments, scrambles, leagues, charity events, clinics, and special golf events.
- Develop programs that increase participation and member engagement.
- Resolve player concerns professionally and promptly.
Financial Performance
- Continuously seek opportunities to increase revenue and improve profitability.
- Develop promotions, memberships, tournaments, and special events that drive business growth.
- Monitor departmental expenses and operate within budget guidelines.
- Assist with annual budgeting and forecasting.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising service quality.
Marketing & Community Engagement
- Promote the golf course through social media platforms and other marketing channels.
- Assist in developing marketing campaigns and promotional events.
- Build relationships with members, residents, local businesses, organizations, and community groups.
- Represent the golf course professionally within the community.
Reporting & Administration
- Prepare and submit operational, financial, staffing, and activity reports as requested.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Attend management meetings and provide updates on golf course operations.
- Communicate effectively with company leadership regarding operational needs, projects, and performance.
Qualifications
- Previous management experience in golf course operations, hospitality, recreation, food and beverage, or a related field preferred.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
- Experience managing multiple departments simultaneously.
- Ability to motivate, train, and develop employees.
- Knowledge of budgeting, scheduling, inventory management, and operational planning.
- Working knowledge of golf course operations and maintenance is preferred.
- Ability to adapt quickly and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to walk the property frequently throughout the day.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events as operational needs require.

Success in this role is measured by operational excellence, staff development, customer satisfaction, financial performance, course conditions, and the continued growth of the golf course as a premier destination for members and guests.The Golf Course Manager serves as a representative of Llano Grande and is expected to conduct themselves with professionalism, integrity, accountability, and a commitment to making decisions that support the long-term success of both the golf course and the company.
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
