Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning of public spaces, including floors, lobbies, hallways, restrooms, and common areas using appropriate cleaning equipment and techniques.
- Handle cleaning chemicals safely by following established safety data sheets (SDS) and handling procedures to ensure a secure environment for yourself and others.
- Use janitorial tools such as vacuums, mops, buffers, and other cleaning equipment to maintain high standards of cleanliness and floor care.
- Conduct manual handling tasks including heavy lifting of supplies, furniture, or equipment while adhering to proper safety protocols.
- Follow hotel emergency procedures when necessary to ensure guest safety and respond appropriately to incidents or hazards.
- Maintain detailed records of cleaning activities, chemical usage, and safety compliance to support sanitation standards.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing guest inquiries politely and ensuring their comfort in public areas.
Skills
- Proven experience in floor cleaning, industrial cleaning, or hotel housekeeping management with a focus on sanitation and custodial responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques, sanitation practices, and the proper handling of chemical agents used in cleaning processes.
- Ability to operate various cleaning equipment safely and efficiently while maintaining a clean working environment.
- Familiarity with hotel housekeeping management principles and hospitality industry standards.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with guests and team members.
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting, vacuuming, manual handling tasks, and prolonged periods of standing or walking.
- Understanding of hotel emergency procedures and safety protocols to ensure guest safety at all times.
