Position Summary
As a Medical Assistant at Blue Sky MD, you'll be a central part of the patient experience, supporting both Wellness Coaches and Medical Providers. This is a fast-paced, multi-functional role for individuals who enjoy working as part of a dynamic team and are eager to cross-train and grow within a supportive medical environment.

Medical Assistant Responsibilities
- Schedule patients/Nurse Closure and coordinate outside referrals
- Collecting copays for telehealth visits
- Facilitate workflow for patient and practice efficiency
- Cross-train to cover both Wellness Coaches and Medical Providers
- Obtain vitals, provide injections, and take electrocardiograms
- Assist during physical exams and/or procedures
- Sterilization of medical instruments
- Assist nurse phone extensions and create appropriate telephone encounters for in-office messaging
- Explain medical procedures to patients
- Maintain annual consents on file for procedure visits
- Submit all prescriptions to pharmacies and check daily verification outbox in EMR
- Complete assessment and flow forms and maintain medical records
- Maintain inventory and order supplies as needed
- Maintain treatment rooms
- Maintain schedule and Superbill preparation two days in advance
- Utilize electronic medical record software to input and maintain patient records
- Cross-train to assist other positions within the clinic (e.g., phlebotomy)
- Maintain up-to-date prior authorizations
- Other duties may be assigned according to business needs
QualificationsEducation
- Required: High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s Degree or certification preferred)
Experience
- At least 3 years of experience in Primary Care, Dermatology, Urgent Care, and/or Emergency Care
- Strong typing and computer skills, including experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
- Excellent grammar, attention to detail, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
