Job Description – Senior AV Technician (Installation)
Ideal candidate is already a Senior Technician and looking to build upon existing experience Has aptitude and experience while looking to further grow their skill sets. An integral member of the team who rolls up their sleeves to execute the work on a daily basis. Must be proficient in residential audio, video, lighting, shading, networks, control system, and climate integration. Must be self-motivated and able to operate independently as well as within the team framework. If you can fly solo and don’t need to be babysat, you are the right fit! Annual Salary Range: from $80k (Based on Experience)
Location:
- Based in Northern NJ or surrounding area (Office is in 07631 and must be able to come to the office)
- Company has vehicles for work (Valid DL & Clean Record Req’d)
- Servicing clients mostly in NYC
Schedule:
- Hours Per Week: 40 Hours Per Week (Usually 4x10 as opposed to 5x8)
- Days Per Week: Monday to Friday
- Hours Per Day: 8-10hrs/day (Based on either a 4-day of 5-day week)
- Starting Time: 8am

Required (Will be tested!):
- 2yr Savant or Crestron Installation Experience (Programming Preferred)
- 2yr Lutron Installation Experience (Programming Preferred)
- 2yr Networking Experience
- Terminate & Test (All wire types)
- Clean Installation of Equipment & Racks (Workspace too!)
System Documentation:
- Updating System Documentation (As-built Forms)
Installation:
- Ability to pull low-voltage wire, test/terminate, install equipment including: speakers, TV’s, racks, networks, control systems, lighting/shading systems, low-voltage lighting fixtures, camera systems.
Basic Programming/Debugging (Preferred):
- Primary: Debugging software on-site during installation (Savant, Lutron, Crestron)
- Skills Requirement: Installation Proficiency (at minimum) in both Savant & Lutron – Will be tested!
Networks:
- Primary: Basic understanding and configuration of “flat” networks.
- Skills: DHCP Reservation, Static IP, DYN DNS
- Brands: Ruckus, Access Networks, Ubiquiti
Quality Control (QC)/Punch List/Troubleshooting:
- Using design docs and as-built system to determine punch list to be completed.
- Resolve any and all installation issues to produce a flawless and turn-key product.
- Expert knowledge of signal flow and methods to trace issues and resolve.
- Ability to proactively suggest alternative solutions/methods
Client Training:
- Ability to train an end-user to control and be comfortable with the finished system.
Physical Capability:
- Ability to lift and manipulate a 50lb package
- Ability to climb a 25’ Ladder
- Operate in a non-climate controlled environment (Summer/Winter)
- Work inside and outside in various weather conditions
