Our job is to make creative suggestions which result in results they will love.
You should have competency in photo, graphics and video programs and be able to use scanners and printers. If you have experience using social media platforms and e-commerce experience, that’s a big plus. More importantly, you must love engaging with customers and be comfortable working closely with them to meet their imaging needs. We can teach any technical skill we require, but we can’t teach the empathy and people skills our customers need.
We offer a fun but demanding environment. You’ll be here four workdays plus Saturdays, with a weekday off. You will receive generous employee discounts. Here, everyone wears many hats, though never all of them at once. During a typical work week, you may do the following:
Scanning of prints, slides and negatives
Counter work with customers: writing orders, consulting on projects, ringing up sales
Imaging: performing photo restorations, scanning originals, preparing and sending proofs to customers, outputting approved files, creating photo montages
Wet photo lab assisting: preparing film for developing, pricing and packaging completed orders, sending electronic transfers of scanned rolls
Video transfers: making video files and DVDs from customer tapes, cataloguing and labeling the files, packaging completed orders
Video projects: creating video montages from customer images and videos, editing and creating customer videos
Store appearance: straightening shelves, vacuuming, putting out trash and recycling
Photography: passport photos, head shots, shooting for e-commerce and store promotion, photographing large size artwork
Stock work: unpacking received merchandise, pricing, entering into point of sale, stocking it on shelves, maintaining proper amounts of goods and supplies on hand
E-Commerce: working on store website, listing items on outside websites, shipping out orders received, sorting, testing, and cleaning trade-ins for sale in store and online
Social Media: Posting to store accounts from supplied content and generating fresh content, maintaining customer list
General retail tasks: Answering and making customer phone calls, assisting customers to place kiosk print orders, providing sales assistance with products
You are expected to be on time and to be available on your scheduled days of work. You should have reliable transportation to our store in Short Hills, NJ. You should be properly dressed and groomed.
