We are seeking an experienced Writing Instructor to join our team. The ideal instructor will have a strong background in teaching Writing, familiarity with the public school curriculum, and a focus on Essay Writing. Previous teaching experience and related educational qualifications are required.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging Writing lessons tailored to students in Grades 4 and above
- Guide students through the process of Essay Writing, focusing on structure, content development, and grammar
- Incorporate creative and effective teaching methods to inspire and improve Writing skills
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support learning objectives
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
- Proven experience teaching Writing to elementary and middle school kids
- Knowledge of the public school program and curriculum standards
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with students, parents and colleagues
- Must be available after 4:30pm
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must be punctual, enthusiastic, responsible, and flexible
