As an Armed Guard, you will be responsible for maintaining high standards of safety and security through active patrolling, access control, incident management, and customer service. Duties
- Conduct regular patrols of premises using CCTV surveillance systems and physical security measures to deter unauthorized access and detect suspicious activity
- Manage access control systems by verifying identities, performing background checks, and authorizing entry for employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors
- Respond swiftly to incidents by writing detailed incident reports, managing conflict de-escalation, and executing emergency response procedures including fire safety protocols and AED operation
- Perform manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting when necessary to secure or move equipment or materials safely
- Utilize law enforcement techniques when required to investigate disturbances or security breaches while maintaining compliance with all security regulations
- Operate security equipment including Taser devices, firearms (where licensed), CCTV cameras, and alarm systems with precision and responsibility
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting visitors, answering inquiries professionally, and ensuring a welcoming yet secure environment
Experience
- Proven experience in physical security roles such as military service, law enforcement, or private security firms is highly desirable
- Knowledge of surveillance technology including CCTV systems and access control systems is essential
- Demonstrated ability to handle emergency situations effectively using first aid skills such as CPR and AED operation
- Familiarity with incident report writing, conflict management techniques, and loss prevention strategies
- Ability to perform background checks and conduct thorough security screenings in accordance with legal standards
- Physical fitness to perform patrols involving long periods of standing or walking, along with the capacity for manual handling tasks including heavy lifting
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with emergency responders and document incidents accurately
