Duties
- Assist with patient intake by collecting medical histories, vital signs, and updating electronic health records (EHR) systems accurately.
- Support physicians and healthcare providers during examinations, procedures, and consultations.
- Manage medical documentation meticulously, including medical records management, and detailed note-taking for accurate billing and compliance.
- Conduct patient education in both English and Spanish (or other relevant languages), explaining procedures, medication instructions, and follow-up care clearly.
- Maintain clinical environment cleanliness and organization while adhering to infection control protocols.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across various facilities to coordinate patient care efficiently and effectively.
Experience
- Proven medical office experience with a strong foundation in outpatient or inpatient settings; dermatology or urgent care experience highly preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in electronic health records (EHR/EMR) systems and medical documentation practices.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, ICD coding, and basic life support (BLS).
- Prior hospital or trauma center experience—Level I or Level II trauma center—will be considered a significant advantage.
- Experience working in diverse environments such as emergency medicine, internal medicine, geriatrics, or PICU is highly valued.
- Ability to adapt quickly to different clinical workflows while maintaining high standards of patient service and safety.
- Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish (or other relevant languages) is essential for effective communication with diverse patient populations.
