About PSW
For more than 43 years, PSW has designed and built exceptional outdoor living environments for homeowners throughout the Pittsburgh region. Our work includes swimming pools, landscapes, hardscapes, outdoor structures, and complete property transformations.
PSW and its affiliated residential companies provide clients with an integrated range of planning, design, visualization, and construction services. Our goal is not simply to complete beautiful projects, but to deliver an exceptional experience built on trust, communication, accountability, and high-level execution.
We are an established company entering an important stage of growth, and we are looking for driven professionals who want to help shape what comes next.
The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Sales Executive to own the relationship with high-end residential clients from the initial inquiry through project completion.
This is a consultative, relationship-driven sales position—not a transactional product-sales role. You will help clients clarify their vision, understand their options, establish realistic expectations, and choose the appropriate planning, design, or construction path through PSW and its affiliated companies.
You will work with discerning homeowners making significant investments in their properties and lifestyles. Success requires confidence, professionalism, emotional intelligence, strong follow-through, and the ability to communicate value without relying on pressure-based sales tactics.
The right person will be motivated by more than processing leads. You will actively create opportunities, build referral relationships, develop a strong pipeline, and help drive the growth of the organization.
What You Will Do
- Serve as the primary client relationship owner from initial contact through project completion
- Conduct discovery calls, qualification meetings, site consultations, and proposal presentations
- Understand each client’s goals, priorities, lifestyle, budget, concerns, and decision-making process
- Determine whether a potential client is a strong fit for the organization
- Guide clients toward the appropriate planning, design, or construction service
- Clearly communicate project scope, investment expectations, timelines, responsibilities, and next steps
- Explain the value of professional design, planning, engineering, project management, and construction
- Accurately estimate and price products and services in accordance with company standards to achieve targeted gross profit margins and overall profitability.
- Prepare and present proposals and agreements with clarity and confidence
- Manage questions, concerns, objections, revisions, and negotiations
- Secure signed agreements, deposits, and client commitments
- Maintain alignment between the client, project scope, budget, and company process
- Keep clients accountable for decisions, approvals, selections, payments, and timely communication
- Identify potential relationship, scope, budget, or expectation issues before they affect the project
- Remain engaged throughout design and construction to support the client experience
- Develop long-term relationships that generate repeat business and referrals
- Maintain accurate CRM records, follow-up activities, pipeline stages, forecasts, and next steps
- Meet established sales, activity, pipeline, referral, conversion, and revenue goals
Cross-Functional Collaboration
You will not work in isolation.
Delivering the right outcome for each client requires close coordination across the organization. You will work alongside:
- Marketing to execute campaigns, improve lead quality, and convert opportunities
- Design teams to understand client goals and develop the appropriate design strategy
- Estimating teams to establish realistic project budgets and pricing
- Project managers to support a smooth transition from sales into project delivery
- Procurement and construction teams to ensure commitments are realistic and achievable
- Company leadership to evaluate opportunities, resolve challenges, and support continued growth
Your responsibility is to keep the client and internal teams aligned so that expectations established during the sales process can be successfully delivered.
Business Development and Lead Generation
Marketing will support the sales process, but this position is not dependent solely on inbound leads.
You will be expected to actively develop business by:
- Building relationships with architects, designers, builders, real estate professionals, trade partners, and other referral sources
- Developing connections with professionals who regularly serve affluent homeowners
- Attending networking events, industry events, home shows, and community functions
- Maintaining relationships with past clients and asking for referrals
- Re-engaging qualified past leads and inactive opportunities
- Developing relationships within target communities and markets
- Supporting company events, educational programs, and client-engagement initiatives
- Working with marketing to execute follow-up strategies and improve campaign performance
We are looking for someone who takes ownership of creating opportunities rather than waiting for them to appear.
What We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate is a polished, driven, and relationship-focused sales professional with experience working with affluent or high-expectation clients.
You should be confident without being aggressive, persuasive without being artificial, and capable of providing direct professional guidance when a client needs clarity.
Strong candidates may come from industries such as:
- High-end residential construction
- Custom homebuilding or remodeling
- Luxury outdoor living
- Landscape design-build
- Swimming pools and hardscapes
- Residential architecture or interior design
- Luxury real estate
- High-value home improvement
- Other consultative or luxury-service sales environments
Qualifications
- Five or more years of experience in sales, business development, client relations, project leadership, or a related role
- Experience working with affluent, discerning, or high-expectation clients
- Proven ability to manage long and complex sales cycles
- Strong discovery, presentation, negotiation, and closing skills
- Ability to confidently discuss substantial project investments
- Exceptional verbal and written communication
- Strong emotional intelligence, judgment, and situational awareness
- Demonstrated ability to build trust and maintain long-term relationships
- Ability to establish boundaries and uphold company processes professionally
- Strong organization, follow-up, and time-management skills
- Ability to understand plans, budgets, proposals, scopes, and schedules
- Experience with HubSpot, Buildertrend, or similar CRM and project-management platforms
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to client properties, project sites, and events
- Ability to work in person at our Bridgeville office
Industry experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right individual who demonstrates professionalism, accountability, strong communication, sound judgment, and a genuine willingness to learn.
Why Join PSW?
This is an opportunity to represent an established company while helping build its next stage of growth.
You will have the opportunity to:
- Work with high-end clients on unique and meaningful residential projects
- Build valuable long-term relationships with clients and professional partners
- Influence the client experience from the first conversation forward
- Work closely with experienced marketing, design, estimating, construction, and leadership teams
- Help strengthen and improve the organization’s sales systems
- Make a measurable impact on company revenue and growth
- Advance into greater responsibility as the organization expands
We are looking for someone who wants to build relationships, create opportunities, solve problems, and help clients make confident decisions—not simply process incoming leads.
