Recovery Coach II — Momentum Program

Join our compassionate team at Spectrum Healthcare’s Momentum program as a Recovery Coach II. You’ll support residents with substance use and mental health challenges by assisting with daily schedules, leading activities, providing encouragement, and helping residents build skills for lasting recovery — all under clinical supervision. This is a hands-on, resident-centered role in a warm, team-focused environment.
What you’ll do

Support residents’ daily routines: assist with schedules, meal prep, light housekeeping, and belongings processing for admissions/visitation

Lead and accompany residents to educational, recreational, and treatment activities and appointments

Provide supportive counseling, social interaction, life-skills coaching, and assistance with self-management groups

Monitor, document, and report resident activities, behavior, safety, and compliance with treatment plans and house rules

Participate in staff/resident groups and meetings; assist with case coordination and intake/treatment planning

Assist with medication supervision under nursing guidance and perform basic point-of-care tasks (breathalyzer/urine drug screen, vitals)

Recognize and help de-escalate crises; contact clinical/crisis team as needed

Maintain confidentiality, follow agency policies, and complete required trainings

Use program technology and systems proficiently
What we’re looking for

High school diploma plus 2 years behavioral health experience (mix of education/work experience accepted), OR
-
Bachelor’s degree (any) with 1+ year behavioral health experience, OR
-
Bachelor’s degree in a human-services field, OR
-
Completion of a Behavioral Health Technician training program, OR
-
Master’s in a human-services field (unlicensed)

Valid driver’s license and ability to transport residents
-
Ability to obtain Level 1 fingerprint card

Current AHA CPR/First Aid for direct care staff (or willingness to obtain)

Strong interpersonal, cultural competency, and communication skills
-
Basic computer skills; ability to speak, read, and write fluent English

Physical ability to sit/move within clinic, occasionally lift ~15 lbs, and work under stress/time constraints
Preferred skills
-
Familiarity with 12-Step and other recovery approaches

Experience with documentation and basic clinical tasks (vitals, point-of-care testing)

Comfortable working with diverse populations and maintaining strict confidentiality
