Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive curriculum plans that promote literacy, math, physical education, and social-emotional growth aligned with early childhood standards.
- Lead daily classroom activities that encourage active participation, creativity, and critical thinking among young children.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive behavior management strategies to create a safe and respectful learning environment.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to share progress updates, discuss concerns, and foster strong home-school connections.
- Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws and maintain accurate records related to child welfare and development.
- Incorporate special education strategies and early intervention techniques to support children with diverse learning needs.
- Supervise classroom staff or assistant teachers, providing guidance on lesson planning and classroom management best practices.
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children in preschool or kindergarten settings, including classroom management and lesson planning.
- Strong knowledge of child development principles, childhood education standards, and curriculum development.
- Certification in first aid and CPR is required; ongoing training in child welfare and mandated reporting laws is essential.
- Familiarity with special education practices, early intervention programs, and behavior management techniques.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, families, staff, and community partners.
- Experience with standardized testing procedures relevant to early childhood education is preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while demonstrating leadership qualities.
