The work of the Aircraft Cleaner classification, depending on assignment, includes any or all of the following; performing aircraft interior cleaning, including equipping the aircraft cabin for flight according to specifications, with equipment and cabin services supplies; cleaning interior of aircraft by hand or powered equipment using cleaners; completion of the aircraft cleaning of work as required; cleaning grease grime in wheel wells and aircraft underbelly, removing corrosion protection, working with cleaning chemicals.
As may apply to work assignments, using cleaning fluids and materials, such as washing solutions, scrapers, squeegees, wringer pails and vacuum cleaners.
As may apply to any particular work assignment, will complete additional jobs as directed by managements, and will work according to Company policy and/or regulations.
Required Skills
Must be able to perform the following functions in variable weather conditions as well as environment conditions, i.e. jet engine fumes, vehicles emissions, dust and jet engine noise.
Cabin Service
Lifts refuse containers weighing up to 50lbs; reach, bend, and twist in confined space to hand clean, using cleaning fluid and materials, the interior or aircraft including meals trays, ash trays, lavatories, overhead storage bins and buffets.
Cognitive skills to check condition, clean, sort, count, salvage and/or store equipment, and assemble kits.
Operate vacuum cleaner and similar mechanized cleaning aids.
Ability to judge distances.
Reports to work on a regular and timely basis.
Required Experience
Must be at least 18 years of age. MUST be able to work rotating shifts including weekends (i.e. Friday, Saturday and Sunday), holidays, and days off. Ability to read, write, fluently speak and understand the English language.
