Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A Truck Driver to join our logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating tractor-trailers and other commercial vehicles to transport freight across various routes, including over-the-road (OTR) driving. Your expertise will ensure timely deliveries while adhering to all safety regulations and company policies. Responsibilities
- Safely operate tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, refrigerated trailers, and other commercial vehicles according to FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations.
- Plan and follow efficient routes using GPS navigation systems to ensure on-time deliveries across OTR routes.
- Load, secure, transport, and unload freight, including hazardous materials and dangerous goods, following all safety protocols.
- Handle logistics cargo with precision, including manual handling and forklift operation when necessary.
- Maintain accurate documentation for delivery manifests, logs, inspection reports, and compliance records.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and report any mechanical issues promptly.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve issues swiftly.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a valid CDL A license.
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and DOT compliance standards.
- Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, roll-off trucks, dump trucks, and freight transportation equipment.
- Skilled in GPS navigation systems for route planning and real-time adjustments.
- Ability to load and unload cargo manually or with equipment such as forklifts when required.
- Experience with over-the-road (OTR) driving routes and route driving best practices.
- Strong understanding of truck loading/unloading procedures and logistics cargo handling.
- Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety, hazard awareness, and defensive driving techniques.
