Jones Networking is recruiting for a Corporate Sous Chef to join the HQ of a global food production company based in Sterling, VA. The Corporate Sous Chef is responsible for menu creation, food presentations, recipe development and food & equipment inventory maintenance. Corporate Sous Chef Position Description:
-Work with the Chef de Cuisine to research and experiment with recipes, and plate food for presentations.
-Collaborate with the Chef de Cuisine and Executive Sous Chef in the creation and preparation of dishes.
-Assist Executive Sous Chef with creating / writing menus for clients and customers based on specific needs.
-Responsible for plating and garnishing food to ensure it is visually appealing.
-Speak with clients regarding various types of appetizers, entrees and desserts; discuss ingredients and methods of preparation.
-Attend trade shows and assist with food demonstration presentations.
-Adhere to all GMPs as well as company's food safety and quality policies.
-Flexibility to travel to support sales teams at client sites and to attend trade shows.
Education:
Associates or BA in Culinary Arts or Food Science or equivalent certification.
Qualifications Summary:
-Minimum two years experience as a Chef and/or Sous Chef.
-Experience working for a Michelin Star Restaurant or equivalent is a plus.
-Ability to speak culinary terminology with clients, executive chefs, kitchen managers and restaurant owners.
-Experience with menu design preferred.
-Front of house experience is an asset.
-Strong familiarity with food safety rules.
-Servsafe certification desired.
-Working knowledge of MS Office software.
