Our DoD/Aerospace client is looking to fill a Senior Quality Inspector role in Charleroi, PA, offering a compelling opportunity for aerospace professionals to contribute to cutting-edge defense technology. This position is a 12-24 month contract with the possibility of going direct, with a pay rate of $39.29 per hour. The role is on-site only, with no relocation package offered.

Education/Experience: High School Diploma required; minimum of 6 years of directly related experience in aerospace or defense manufacturing. An Associate’s degree in Electronics, Computer Science, or Mechanical Engineering is preferred. Certifications such as J-STD_001, 002, IPC 610, MIL-STD-883, MIL-STD-750, and X-Ray qualification may be required.
Clearance Requirement: Secret Obtainable
Schedule: First Shift
In this role you will use your technical and interpersonal skills to:
- Inspect electronic and mechanical parts, assemblies, and equipment for compliance with aerospace and defense standards, including MIL-STD and IPC requirements.
- Operate and monitor automated test equipment for real-time defect evaluation in high-technology defense systems.
- Prepare and verify QA documentation, including inspection reports, non-conformance reports, and corrective action records.
- Interface with manufacturing teams, suppliers, and internal customers to communicate inspection results and ensure quality standards are met.
- Apply advanced knowledge of ESD control, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, and process control techniques to maintain strict quality standards.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to leverage AI and automation in inspection processes.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Expertise in electronic and mechanical test configurations, including setup and calibration of test equipment.
- Strong understanding of aerospace quality standards such as MIL-STD-883, MIL-STD-750, IPC 610, and J-STD_001.
- Proficiency with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), statistical process control (SPC), and defect analysis.
- Experience with X-ray inspection techniques and qualification certifications.
- Skilled in the use of basic mechanical measurement tools and electronic test instruments.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
- Creative problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to process improvement.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment with a focus on precision and compliance.
