Responsibilities
- Provide attentive caregiving for children, toddlers, infants, and individuals with disabilities, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times
- Assist with daily routines such as feeding, bathing, dressing, and diapering for infants and young children
- Engage children in age-appropriate activities that promote childhood development, early childhood education, and behavioral management
- Support learning through teaching activities tailored to young children’s needs, including preschool and classroom experiences
- Follow mandated reporting laws to document any concerns related to safety or well-being accurately and promptly
- Administer basic first aid and CPR when necessary to ensure immediate care during emergencies
- Foster a nurturing environment that encourages social skills, independence, and positive behavior
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children across various settings such as daycare, preschool, babysitting, nannying or youth programs teaching experience
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education practices
- Certification in CPR and first aid from an accredited organization
- Demonstrated ability to work with individuals with disabilities with patience and understanding
- Familiarity with mandated reporting laws related to child safety and abuse prevention
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with families, colleagues, and children
- Ability to manage behavior effectively while creating a positive learning environment
