Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Attendant/Home Provider to deliver personalized care and support to individuals in their homes or community settings. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in caregiving, with extensive experience in patient observation, personal care assistance, and managing various health-related tasks. As an Attendant/Home Provider, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for those you serve by providing attentive, respectful, and comprehensive support tailored to each individual's needs.
Duties
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and observe for any changes in health status, ensuring timely communication with healthcare professionals.
- Prepare nutritious meals aligned with dietary restrictions and preferences, ensuring safety and proper nutrition.
- Support clients with medication administration and management according to care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations for privacy and confidentiality.
- Utilize patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts or manual handling techniques to ensure safe mobility and transfers.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning and sanitation.
- Provide transportation assistance for medical appointments or community activities to promote independence and social engagement.
- Document care activities accurately, communicate effectively with clients and team members, and follow all protocols related to patient monitoring and safety.
Experience
Candidates should have prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism or dementia, and memory care is highly valued. Familiarity with care plans, medication administration, patient monitoring techniques—including vital signs—and use of equipment like Hoyer lifts is essential. Applicants should demonstrate proficiency in caregiving tasks such as assisting with ADLs, manual handling, personal transportation assistance, and providing compassionate support within senior care or hospice settings. Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional training in dementia or Alzheimer's care is preferred. A background that includes social work or experience supporting individuals with disabilities will be considered advantageous.
