Fossil Lake Safari (FossilSafari.com) is a pay-per-dig fossil fish quarry 30 minutes outside of Kemmerer, WY and operated by FossilEra Adventures. Our visitors can dig for their own fossils in the premier fossil beds of the Green River Formation, boasting dozens of species of fish, plants, insects, along with the occasional rare bird, reptile, or mammal specimen. We pride ourselves in not only providing unparalleled fossils, but also an exceptional visitor experience.

We are looking for additional quarry staff to help assist visitors throughout their fossil digs. We are hiring for seasonal positions for the summer of 2026. This is a full-time, 40 hours per week position at our quarry 30 minutes from Kemmerer. Summer positions run through September. Employees need to be available on weekends, as they are the busiest times for the quarry. **Preference to applicants local to the area.**
- Pay is $20+/hr DOE.

- Employees can share dig outside of work hours if they want to keep fossils.
Key Responsibilities
- Primarily assisting and monitoring visitors, answering their questions.
- Showing visitors how to find fossils. (We can teach you these basics)
- Checking people in.
- Helping people carry, cut down and wrap specimens.
- Making sure visitors follow safety rules.
- Will rotate tasks throughout the day.
- General maintenance work including picking up trash, sorting and cleanup of rock piles, keeping restrooms clean.
- Helping to break down rocks that are too large for customers to handle.
- During slow times employees will help to collect fossils for the quarry.
Qualifications
- Dependable & Reliable.
- Great customer service skills and a Positive Attitude.
- Passionate about fossils. (If you're not now, you soon will be!)
- Great teamwork skills.
- Comfortable working outdoors. You will be out in the elements the majority of the day. Quarry is at 7,300 ft elevation and it gets hot in the summer.
- Fossil collecting experience in Green River Formation preferred by not necessary.
- Need to be able to physically carry rock weighing at least 50 lbs. Job will involve a lot of physical labor.
- Experience with heavy equipment such as a backhoe or skid steer is a HUGE plus, and would increase starting pay.
- Local candidates preferred. We cannot provide housing.
- Must have reliable transportation to and from the quarry. The drive includes 8 miles of dirt road and is fine for most cars.
**Must have a valid driver's license.
**Must be at least 16 years of age.
