American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Stepdown/Immediate Care Unit position requiring telemetry skills and a minimum of 1.5–2 years of relevant experience.

Stepdown/Immediate Care Unit in a hospital setting

Patient population includes stepdown, progressive care, and telemetry-level patients with varying acuity
-
Typical patient ratio of 1:4, with flex to 1:5 in emergencies

Schedule is 3x12-hour night shifts (7p–7a), weekdays with some weekends required
-
Blocked schedules may be considered for weekend blocks only (Fri/Sat/Sun or Sat/Sun/Mon)

EMR: Cerner
-
Active WV or compact RN license required
-
Current BLS and ACLS certifications required

Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg Telemetry experience and 2 years of Stepdown experience required

Proficiency in IV insertion and telemetry monitoring required

Ability to read cardiac strips required

Valid driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration

Two manager or charge nurse references from within the past 2 years required for consideration

Some SDU patients may present at a progressive care or telemetry acuity level typical of larger facilities — candidates should be comfortable managing variable patient acuity

Contract extension is possible

Scrubs are not provided; burgundy and/or white scrubs required

Holiday RTO requests are limited to no more than 2 of the 4 major holidays
