Job Summary
We are seeking a highly vigilant and disciplined Armed Security Officer to fill in emergency gaps at our sites. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for maintaining a secure environment through proactive patrols, surveillance, and rapid response to incidents. Your expertise in law enforcement procedures, security protocols, and emergency response will ensure the safety of all individuals on site. Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of the facility using surveillance equipment and physical security measures to deter unauthorized access and prevent theft or vandalism.
- Monitor CCTV systems continuously to identify suspicious activity and respond promptly to potential threats.
- Control access points using advanced access control systems, verifying identities and authorizations for employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors.
- Respond swiftly to emergencies by implementing established procedures for fire safety, medical incidents, or security breaches; operate AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators), Taser devices, firearms (where authorized), and other emergency equipment as needed.
- Write detailed incident reports documenting security breaches, accidents, or other occurrences; ensure accuracy and clarity for future reference.
- Perform background checks on new personnel or visitors when required to maintain a secure environment.
- Engage in conflict de-escalation techniques to manage disputes calmly and professionally while maintaining safety for all parties involved.
Skills
- Proven experience in surveillance operations, law enforcement, or military service with strong knowledge of physical security practices.
- Ability to operate access control systems, CCTV cameras, fire alarm systems, and other security technology effectively.
- Excellent conflict management skills with a focus on de-escalation and customer service-oriented communication.
- Knowledge of emergency response procedures including CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), first aid, AED operation, heavy lifting techniques, and manual handling protocols.
- Familiarity with incident report writing standards ensuring clear documentation of events.
- Strong understanding of security regulations compliance and loss prevention strategies.
- Physical fitness capable of performing patrolling duties involving long periods of standing or walking; ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary.
