What You Bring…
AA/AS in Early Childhood Education required, BS/BA preferred
Minimum of 45 credits in Early Childhood Education
Minimum of three years’ experience working in a preschool and/or school age environment
At least two years of experience as a classroom teacher or childcare provider
Ability to travel locally with some evening and weekend hours
Excellent verbal, written and listening skills and the ability to communicate to a wide-ranging audience
Strong interpersonal skills and a willingness to work as part of a team
Successful completion of the Virginia Pre-Service Training for Child Care Staff
Successful background check and VA licensing standards required
Compensation…
The hourly rate for this position is between $18.00- $20.00 per hour.
The pay range listed is what we in good faith anticipate offering for this job position.
Actual compensation within this range will be determined by several factors, including a candidate’s experience, education and training, certifications, geographic location and other relevant organization and business factors.

Displays socially appropriate, adaptability and professional maturity under pressure.
Possesses an advanced ability to provide overall supervision and guidance of staff.
Becomes a resource and role model to staff regarding curriculum, behavior, classroom management techniques, etc.
Communicates professionally with staff, families and children.
Conducts daily program observations and assessments.
Assists with classroom coverage as needed.
Abilities to collaborate and communicate effectively with Center leadership.
Attends training, workshops, and/or college courses as identified in their individual training plan. This plan will be developed by the Center Director in consultation with the Program Manager and possibly the Educational Specialist.
