Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to ensure comfort and dignity.
- Monitor patient health by observing vital signs, recognizing changes in condition, and reporting findings accurately to healthcare professionals.
- Support medication administration following prescribed care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary.
- Utilize patient transfer methods including Hoyer lifts and manual handling techniques to ensure safe mobility and prevent injury.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and ensuring proper infection control practices.
Requirements
- Certification as a Caregiver or willingness to obtain required certifications if not already held.
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, first aid, CPR, and vital signs monitoring.
- Experience working in group home settings, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly desirable.
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely using proper manual handling techniques; physical stamina for long shifts involving patient transfer methods like Hoyer lifts.
- Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and documentation; understanding of HIPAA compliance standards.
- Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed to support continuous resident care.
