Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Assists with the installation, operation, testing, and adjustment of various types of conventional or automatic machines used to produce precision parts and instruments

Fabricates and modifies parts to make or repair machine tools or maintain industrial machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures

Machines parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, or grinders. Measures, examines, and tests completed units in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications

Complies with company policies and the Standards of Business Conduct

Adheres to general and job specific safety, environmental, and quality guidelines/procedures

Performs other duties as assigned
Education/Experience - Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

High school diploma or GED required
-
Completion of technical school ,applicable skilled trades program, or equivalent experience

At least four years of relevant experience

Work Environment:
This individual works in a multi-level industrial environment requiring work in high precarious places via ladders and steps inside and outside the plant in all types of weather conditions. This individual is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and some hazardous chemicals. The plant utilizes high levels of electricity and individuals have to be safety minded in all activities. The work environment is dusty.

Moderate - Industrial noise levels characteristic of moving mechanical equipment
