Job Description
PRESS Coffee, Crepes & Cocktails is currently seeking an experienced Barista for our flagship Downtown Durham location.
PRESS specializes in a unique combination of high-quality craft coffee & cocktail programs alongside an evolving, scratch-made kitchen menu that demonstrates our focus on being European Inspired, Carolina Made.
We are an upscale, true all-day café, providing the opportunity to enjoy varying menu items and guest experiences across day parts and days of the week.
The ideal candidate for this role has 1+ year(s) of experience in craft coffee and weekend availability. We are looking for someone with a strong understanding of espresso, coffee and related beverage preparation. A willingness to work as a part of a dynamic, efficient team in a high volume, fast-paced environment is imperative to succeed. A desire for continuous learning on-site and through Counter Culture courses is needed.
As a barista, you will work directly under the Lead Barista. Responsibilities include:
- Greeting customers
- Providing exceptional customer service
- Taking orders and processing payments
- Making beverages and syrups in accordance with our recipes and protocols
- Completing opening and closing tasks
- Maintaining a clean, orderly and well-stocked bar

We operate a pooled tip share with a minimum of $7 per hour in tip share for a guaranteed hourly wage of your base pay + $7/hr.
