Overview
Join our dynamic logistics team as a Forklift Operator and Material Handler, where your energy and precision will drive our warehouse operations forward! In this vital role, you will operate various types of heavy equipment—including forklifts, reach trucks, Hi-Lo, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks—to efficiently load, unload, and move materials within our distribution center. Your expertise in warehouse management systems, inventory control, and safety standards will ensure seamless warehouse distribution and order fulfillment. Duties
- Safely operate forklift trucks, reach trucks, clamp trucks, Hi-Lo equipment, and pallet jacks to load and unload shipments.
- Perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting and precise order picking using barcode scanning technology for logistics accuracy.
- Manage inventory by accurately recording stock levels within the warehouse management system and conducting regular cycle counts.
- Assist in shipping & receiving processes by verifying incoming and outgoing shipments against documentation.
- Conduct routine equipment repairs or report maintenance needs to ensure all material handling equipment operates safely and efficiently.
- Follow OSHA safety standards and warehouse safety protocols during all operations to prevent accidents or injuries.
- Support warehouse distribution activities by organizing materials for storage or dispatch according to warehouse procedures.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating forklift trucks, reach trucks, Hi-Lo, clamp trucks, or similar material handling equipment.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations including inventory management systems and order picking procedures.
- Knowledge of safety standards in production environments such as OSHA regulations related to heavy equipment operation and manual handling.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic repairs on equipment when necessary.
- Excellent manual handling skills with the ability to lift heavy objects safely and efficiently.
- Basic math skills for inventory counting, measurements, and documentation accuracy.
- Prior experience in warehouse management or supervisory roles is a plus but not required; willingness to learn is essential.
