MVAR Media, a leading Democratic political media consulting firm, is seeking an Associate to join our growing team. This position is based in Alexandria, VA and is available through December 2026 with the opportunity to become permanent.
Responsibilities
The Media Operations Associate will work with the Director of Media Operations, working to execute precise quality controls on all our ads and ensure all are delivered to the right place at the right time. These responsibilities include
- Performing quality control on TV, digital, and radio spots. Quality control can include
- Copy editing
- Double-checking research and legal requirements
- Verifying versions meet the correct technical specifications
- Creating closed captions and subtitles
- Tracking multiple versions of spots through various lanes of production, approvals, shipment, and archiving
- Coordinating with the Director of Media Operations to work with buyers and vendors to ensure on time delivery
- File management and archiving
- Executing all these tasks using the project management system, Monday.com
The Associate will also provide occasionally support to other teams as needed, including
- Searching for and collecting stock footage and audio
- Assisting with research projects and archiving of materials
- Maintenance and indexing of footage in our media asset management system, Iconik
- Performing administrative duties, including basic office management tasks
- Assisting the Digital Operations team with reporting, competitives, and media plan and campaign execution
Qualifications
- Attention to detail is an absolute must. This is a role for those who want to dive into the nitty gritty; no detail is too small.
- Excellent organizational skills and time management
- A love of checklists
- A team mentality; this role is collaborative and integrates with others
- Ability to multi-task and keep track of many clients and projects developing simultaneously
- A willingness and ability to learn quickly
- Passion for electing Democrats and helping progressive causes
- Willingness to work on a campaign schedule, which often includes early mornings, late nights, and weekends
Education and Background
- Knowledge of style guides (i.e. AP) a huge plus
- Experience with copy editing and/or research
- Some experience working in politics and/or campaigns
- Video production experience a plus but not required
- Archival experience a plus but not required
Technical Skills
- Prior experience with Adobe Creative Suite is a plus, but not required.
- Experience with project management software, ideally Monday.com, is a plus, but not required
- High level of computer competency and willingness to quickly learn new software

Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
