For the Chicago Office of a Sophisticated Mid-Sized Law Firm
Responsibilities include:

Partner with practice and industry group leaders to develop and implement business development strategies aligned with group goals and firmwide priorities;

Manage the creation, organization, and follow-up of new business pitches, proposals, and RFP responses from intake through final submission.

Support business planning for practices, industries, firm initiatives, and individual attorneys, while serving as a key liaison to leadership and attending related meetings.

Oversee core business development infrastructure, including experience tracking, relationship management tools, pipelines, and CRM systems.

Help drive cross-selling efforts by identifying client needs, understanding attorney capabilities, and surfacing opportunities across practices.

Collaborate on events, sponsorships, speaking opportunities, marketing collateral, directory submissions, awards, media relations coordination, and associate onboarding initiatives.
Qualifications include:

5+ years of marketing and business development experience in a law firm or other professional services environment;

Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree such as an MBA or JD is a plus;

Strong understanding of legal services marketing, client relationship dynamics, and business development strategy within a law firm setting;

Excellent writing skills, with demonstrated experience preparing concise and compelling pitches, proposals, and other business development communications;

Strong verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with attorneys and senior stakeholders across the firm;

Highly organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities independently in a fast-paced environment; experience with InterAction, CRM platforms, and Microsoft Office preferred.
Salary: $130k-$150k
