A Key Holder at Craft Witch is responsible for opening/closing the store and assisting the facilitation of tasks and assignments assigned by management. They contribute to assisting other employees in delivering exceptional customer service, maintaining the shop, following the shop schedule, and facilitating crafter reservations in the studio space. The Key Holder will act as the main point of contact for customers and staff if management members are not present. Key Holders support the completion of assignments that are delegated by the management team; they are leaders amongst the team, but defer to management for executive decisions and task assignments. The Keyholder position is tip-eligible.
Key Holders must be comfortable and enthusiastic about taking the lead in providing support to all crafters and shoppers alike – transferable experience in public speaking, retail, and/or customer service is strongly preferred. Candidates with experience in front-of-house positions, such as restaurant host, are encouraged to apply.

This role is in-person and is seasonal; the projected end date of this position is mid-November. The current scheduling requirements are as follows: Thursday, Saturday, Sunday; 5.5 hours/day, 16.5 hours/week. There are opportunities to increase hours as the season progresses.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Cover opening and/or closing shifts based on the needs of the shop schedule
- Conduct opening and closing shift procedures, including counting cash boxes, logging tips, and caring for the shop premises, tools, and materials
- Support the delegation and completion shop tasks, workshop assignments, and projects decided by management
- Act as the main point of contact for customers and staff if Managers and Assistant Managers are not present, providing assistance with conflict resolution and de-escalation when necessary
- Report to management with updates, reviews, issues relating to product quality, performance, shop needs, etc.
- Provide management with support for delegated tasks, shifts, and projects as needed
- Facilitate check-in for reservations, guiding patrons through their creative process to create meaningful crafts
- Preparing and maintaining merchandise, stock, and products
- Fielding customer inquiries in person, via phone call or email
- Assist with running point of sale/cash register, conducting cash counts for all registers twice daily
- Professionally enforce and communicate the official studio policies with customers and staff
- Contribute to the maintenance of shop cleanliness and organization, supporting the team in the completion of respective assignments

- Relevant teaching, instructing, presentation, public speaking experiences
- Attention to detail, hand-eye coordination
- Self-motivation and strong initiative, desire for self-development
- Ability to work autonomously when required
Preferred skills and qualifications:
- Helpful to have experience in retail and/or front-of-house roles
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite
- High school or equivalent education level
- Stable work history
- Experience with or passion for art, crafting, hands-on creativity!
