We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Dispatcher to join our transportation and logistics team. Duties
- Coordinate and schedule pickups and deliveries using transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine.
- Utilize GPS, GIS (Geographic Information Systems), and other tracking tools to monitor fleet locations, optimize routes, and ensure on-time arrivals.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, carriers, vendors, and internal teams via multi-line phone systems, maintaining professional phone etiquette at all times.
- Enter accurate data related to freight movements, shipping & receiving logs, and dispatch records into relevant platforms like AS400 and transportation management software.
- Manage shipping schedules by coordinating with 3PL providers (third-party logistics), ensuring compliance with delivery deadlines and customer expectations.
- Conduct analysis of transportation data to identify inefficiencies, suggest improvements, and support strategic planning efforts in logistics operations.
- Maintain detailed documentation for freight movements, fleet management activities, and incident reports to support compliance and operational transparency.
Requirements
- Proven experience with transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of logistics, supply chain processes, transportation planning, and freight dispatching.
- Familiarity with GPS technology, GIS mapping tools, and fleet management software for route optimization.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to handle multi-line phone systems professionally while demonstrating strong phone etiquette.
- Proficient typing skills for data entry tasks combined with attention to detail for accurate record keeping.
- Knowledge of shipping & receiving procedures along with experience in freight coordination within a 3PL environment is preferred.
- Analysis skills to interpret transportation data effectively and contribute to continuous process improvements.
