Duties
- Assist in managing daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and POS (Point of Sale) system oversight
- Lead and supervise staff by providing training, coaching, and performance feedback to promote a motivated team environment
- Oversee inventory control, stock replenishment, merchandising, and pricing strategies to maximize sales opportunities
- Support recruiting efforts by participating in interviewing candidates and onboarding new employees
- Handle customer inquiries with professionalism using excellent phone etiquette and communication skills
- Manage scheduling shifts to ensure adequate coverage during peak hours while maintaining efficient time management
- Coordinate marketing initiatives and promotional displays to boost store visibility and sales performance
Experience
- Proven assistant manager or supervisory experience within a retail or grocery store environment
- Strong knowledge of retail math, sales management, and budgeting principles
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and foster a collaborative atmosphere
- Experience with inventory management systems, POS technology, and cash handling procedures
- Multilingual or bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse customer bases effectively
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently under pressure
- Previous experience in recruiting, employee orientation, training & development is preferred
