Duties
- Install, service, and repair HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and building automation systems.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and electrical diagrams to diagnose issues accurately.
- Conduct electrical diagnostics and troubleshoot electrical systems within HVAC equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance on mechanical systems to ensure peak efficiency and longevity.
- Repair plumbing components related to HVAC systems and handle equipment troubleshooting with precision.
- Utilize hand tools, welding equipment, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic tools to complete repairs effectively.
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs clearly and ensuring client satisfaction during field service visits.
Experience
- Proven construction experience with a strong background in mechanical systems repair and HVAC system installation.
- Service technician experience working with HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration) equipment in commercial or industrial settings.
- Familiarity with schematics, building automation systems, electrical systems, and plumbing related to HVAC applications.
- Hands-on experience with ammonia refrigeration systems and boiler maintenance is highly desirable.
- Mechanical knowledge complemented by experience in appliance repair, property maintenance, welding, and general equipment troubleshooting.
- Valid EPA certification for refrigerants is required; a driver’s license with a clean record is essential for field service mobility.
