Our client is seeking a Senior Accountant who likes owning the work without being micromanaged, this is an opportunity to join a growing organization that has spent the last couple of years intentionally building out its accounting function.
What You'll Do
- Owning the month-end close process for assigned properties
- Preparing and reviewing journal entries, accruals and account reconciliations
- Completing bank reconciliations and supporting cash management activities
- Reviewing financial statements for accuracy and identifying unusual activity
- Maintaining and reconciling fixed assets
- Providing quality control and oversight related to AP, AR and billing activity
- Handling intercompany transactions and reconciliations
- Communicating directly with property teams to research and resolve accounting questions
- Supporting year-end audit and tax-related requests
- Identifying opportunities to streamline processes and improve the efficiency of the close
- Jumping into special projects as the organization continues to grow and evolve
What They're Looking For
- Approximately 3+ years of accounting experience
- Bachelor's degree preferred; candidates with an associate degree and strong relevant experience will also be considered
- Solid understanding of month-end close and general ledger accounting
- Strong Excel skills
- Comfortable learning and working within multiple accounting and technology platforms
- A self-starter who can take ownership of responsibilities without needing significant day-to-day direction
- Comfortable working in an environment where processes and systems may continue to change
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with non-accounting teams
- Experience with fixed assets would be a significant plus
- Sage Intacct or NetSuite experience is helpful but not required
