Front of House Supervisor
Position Overview
The Grille at Sand Hollow Resort is seeking an experienced, motivated, and hospitality-driven Front of House (FOH) Supervisor to join our leadership team. This role is responsible for overseeing daily front-of-house operations, ensuring exceptional guest experience, leading and developing service staff, and supporting the management team in maintaining the high standards our guests expect.
This is a hands-on leadership position — you’ll be on the floor, in action, and setting the tone for the team every morning shift.

Key responsibilities
- Oversee all front-of-house operations during assigned shifts, ensuring smooth and efficient service from open to close
- Lead, coach, and motivate servers, hosts, bussers, and bartenders to deliver exceptional guest experiences
- Manage floor assignments, server sections, and seating rotation to maximize efficiency and guest satisfaction
- Handle guest concerns and complaints promptly and professionally, turning challenges into positive outcomes
- Ensure all FOH team members adhere to service standards, uniform policies, and health/safety regulations
- Assist with opening and closing duties, including cash handling, POS reconciliation, and daily reporting
- Support hiring, onboarding, training, and ongoing development of FOH team members
- Coordinate with the back-of-house team to ensure timely and accurate food delivery
- Monitor inventory for front-of-house supplies (linens, glassware, small wares) and clearly and decisively communicate the needs to management
- Support and participate in catering events, banquets, and special functions at the resort as needed
- Uphold and promote a positive, team-oriented culture across all departments
Qualifications
Required:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a front-of-house restaurant or hospitality role
- At least 1 year of supervisory or lead experience in a food and beverage environment
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and solution-oriented in a fast-paced environment
- Working knowledge of POS systems and basic cash handling procedures
- Current food handler’s permit (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire)
- Must be available to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Must be at least 21 years of age (for alcohol service compliance)
Preferred:
- Experience in a resort, country club, or upscale casual dining environment
- Catering experience or a strong interest in learning the catering side of the business is a plus
- Familiarity with wine, beer, and cocktail service
- TIPS or ServSafe Alcohol certification
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
