<Responsibilities>
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history reviews to inform personalized care plans.
- Administer medications, injections, IV infusions, and other treatments following strict aseptic techniques and safety protocols.
- Monitor patients’ conditions continuously, manage acute pain, and respond promptly to emergencies such as airway issues or ventilator needs.
- Document all patient interactions accurately in electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with physicians and specialists in areas such as cardiology, ophthalmology, infectious disease care, or geriatrics to coordinate treatment strategies.
- Assist with diagnostic procedures including laboratory specimen collection, catheterizations, suturing, or gastrostomy feedings.
- Educate patients and their families on health coaching topics such as medication management, discharge planning, or chronic disease management.
<Requirements>
- Valid nursing license (RN) in good standing with state licensing boards.
- Proven experience in critical care environments such as ICU or Level I Trauma Centers is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for accurate documentation.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
- Experience working with diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia care needs.
- Ability to perform complex procedures such as IV insertions, phlebotomy, tube feeding management, and sterile processing techniques.
- Knowledge of infection control standards and HIPAA compliance to ensure patient safety and confidentiality.
