American Traveler is hiring a GI/Endoscopy Tech with 2+ years of experience and SGNA/CGRN certification for a day-shift assignment at an academic medical center.

Work in the GI/Endoscopy department of an academic medical center
-
4x10-hour day shifts, Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-5:30 PM, with occasional variation
-
No call and no weekend requirements
-
1:1 patient ratio
-
Performs procedures including colonoscopy, EGD, CRE balloon dilations, and esophageal foreign body removal
-
Assists with biopsies and specimen handling for pathology
-
Uses equipment such as balloon dilators, electrosurgical units, ERBE, forceps, polyp snares, and foreign body equipment
-
Responsible for cleaning and care of colonoscopes, EGD scopes, and enteroscopes
-
Utilizes Epic and Provation for charting and documentation
-
Minimum 2 years of GI/Endoscopy Tech experience
-
BLS certification required
-
SGNA and CGRN certifications required at time of consideration
-
License required if applicable
-
Epic and Provation experience required
-
BSN preferred
-
Experience with instrument processing, cleaning, and room turnover
-
Skilled in infection control and Universal Protocol (time-out) procedures
-
Experience with hemostatic agents (clips and banders) and injection techniques (spot tattoo ink/lifting agents) preferred
-
Assist with procedural support including biopsies, scope cleaning, and instrument processing
-
Restock supply room and procedure carts as needed
-
Handle pathology specimens according to facility protocol
-
Float within scope of practice as required by the facility
-
Specialty-specific orientation modules completed during onboarding
-
Maximum of 40 hours RTO per 13-week contract, must be disclosed at time of consideration

Any planned time off between sign date and start date must be communicated in advance
-
Previous UVA Health employees must disclose prior employment; a 1-year separation and leadership approval required for former staff or internal travelers

External travelers cannot exceed 365 total assignment days at this facility

Travelers who reach 365 total assignment days are not eligible to return, regardless of time away
