Duties
- Safely operate tractor-trailers with frameless end dump configurations across regional routes, adhering to all safety regulations and company policies
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, including checking manual transmission systems, brakes, lights, and trailer connections
- Manage route driving efficiently to meet delivery schedules while optimizing fuel usage and minimizing delays
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo details, and delivery documentation in compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations
- Communicate effectively with dispatch to coordinate pickups, deliveries, and any route adjustments or issues that arise during transit
- Assist with loading and unloading freight when necessary, ensuring proper handling of refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or other specialized equipment
Qualifications
- Proven experience in truck driving with a focus on commercial driving environments such as frameless End Dumps
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements relevant to the trailer types operated (e.g., manual transmission experience preferred)
- Demonstrated ability to operate manual transmission trucks safely and efficiently
- Experience with refrigerated trailers, flatbed loads, tankers, or roll-off trucks is a plus
- Strong knowledge of load & unload procedures and route driving best practices
- Ability to handle forklift operation for loading/unloading when required
- Excellent driving record with a focus on safety and compliance with DOT regulations
- Physical capability to load/unload freight manually or with equipment; comfortable working in various weather conditions
