An established multidisciplinary engineering firm is looking for a Civil Engineering Practice Manager to lead its New Jersey operation.
This role combines technical leadership, team management, client development, and business growth. You’ll oversee a team of civil engineers and survey professionals while staying involved with municipal, land development, and infrastructure work.
The opportunity is well suited to a senior civil engineer who has moved beyond managing individual projects and is ready to have a larger role in the people, clients, and financial performance of a practice.
What You’ll Do
· Lead, mentor, and develop Civil Engineers and Survey professionals
· Oversee municipal, land development, and site development projects from proposal through construction
· Manage project budgets, schedules, staffing, utilization, and profitability
· Review plans, specifications, calculations, reports, and other technical deliverables
· Develop proposals, scopes of work, and fee estimates
· Meet with clients and present solutions, project approaches, and proposals
· Develop relationships with municipalities, developers, and private-sector clients
· Identify new opportunities and expand existing client relationships
· Help set priorities for the New Jersey practice and allocate resources accordingly
· Monitor project performance and address issues affecting schedule, budget, quality, or client satisfaction
· Strengthen QA/QC and engineering processes
· Mentor staff and help build the next level of leadership within the practice
· Work with company leadership on growth strategy and business development
What We’re Looking For
· Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
· Active New Jersey PE license
· 10+ years of progressive civil engineering experience
· Strong municipal and/or land development background
· Experience leading and developing engineering staff
· Experience managing project financials, budgets, and utilization
· Strong proposal, estimating, and client-management experience
· Demonstrated business development or account-growth experience
· Established relationships within the New Jersey engineering, municipal, or development community
· Strong communication and presentation skills
· Ability to balance technical quality, client service, people leadership, and business objectives

Pay: $150,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
