About the Opportunity
Tropical Tile & Marble Distributors, an established South Florida tile and stone distributor serving the community for more than 40 years, is looking for an experienced Showroom Sales & Design Consultant to join our team.
We are looking for a polished, personable sales professional who enjoys working with customers, helping them make design decisions and developing long-term relationships.
Tile experience is a plus, but it is not required.
We are more interested in finding an exceptional consultative salesperson with strong communication skills, professionalism, follow-through and the desire to learn.
Candidates with successful sales experience in flooring, kitchen & bath, cabinetry, lighting, furniture, appliances, interior design, home furnishings or other design-oriented products are strongly encouraged to apply.
What You’ll Do
· Welcome and assist homeowners, interior designers, builders and contractors in our showroom
· Understand each customer’s project, style, budget and needs
· Guide customers through tile, stone and related product selections
· Prepare quotations and follow projects throughout the sales process
· Consistently follow up on quotations, samples and active projects
· Build relationships that generate repeat and referral business
· Develop relationships with designers, contractors and other trade professionals
· Maintain accurate customer and project information
· Coordinate with other members of the Tropical Tile team to provide exceptional customer service
· Develop strong tile and product knowledge through ongoing training
· Meet individual sales and customer-service goals
What We’re Looking For
Preferred: Previous experience in consultative, showroom or design-oriented sales is preferred.
Experience in any of the following is especially relevant:
· Tile, flooring or stone
· Kitchen & bath
· Cabinetry
· Lighting
· Furniture or home furnishings
· Appliances
· Interior design
· Luxury or higher-end home products
The right candidate should be:
· Professional, personable and confident with customers
· An excellent listener and communicator
· Comfortable discussing design, color and style
· Sales-oriented without being high-pressure
· Highly organized with excellent follow-up habits
· Comfortable developing relationships with homeowners and trade professionals
· Motivated by both customer satisfaction and sales results
· Comfortable learning CRM/ERP and sales systems
· Able to work independently while contributing to a close-knit team
· Interested in building a long-term career
Tile experience is NOT required. We will train an exceptional salesperson on our products.
Compensation
Base salary: $55,000–$70,000 per year, depending on experience
PLUS commission and performance incentives
