Pruett's Market is a locally owned, community-minded grocery store with a food service department that serves hot food, fresh made-to-order sandwiches salad, pizza, a newly remodeled hot bar with delicious rotating daily options and a beautiful deli case which houses an amazing assortment of mains and side dishes for any special event or nightly supper at home.
We are currently hiring for a full-time and part-time Deli Associate to join our growing team in a fun and fast-paced environment. This position will assist in all manners, production, and customer service while working in our food service department. This predominantly includes, but is not limited to, the deli case, made-to-order sandwich, fresh-made pizza and a new hot bar area.
Job duties include:
- Sandwich Station: Making fresh sandwiches off of our menu, as well as custom sandwiches. Doing prep for station, helping customers and assisting with surrounding stations.
- Deli Case: Prepping grab and go sandwiches/case items/etc. Keeping case full and clean. Safely and efficiently operating deli slicer for both meats and cheeses and assisting with surrounding stations. Making snack packs and other items for the grab-and-go wall.
- Cuts, prepares, and serves a variety of hot and cold foods, including meats, cheeses, sandwiches, wraps, and pizza.
- Hot Bar - Greets customers at the deli, plates and serve items on the bar, including mains, sides, and soups.
- Must give excellent customer service and actively engage our customers. This includes educating customers about the preparation and ingredients of various deli items and often can suggest re-heating directions or something that may pair with a main item.
- Stocks and prepares some hot and cold-case items for the deli case and communicates with manager about stock levels of items.
- Checks and monitors product dates to ensure freshness and rotates items to keep the case looking bountiful and fresh. Keeps accurate temp logs of all product.
- Ability to deliver prompt, friendly customer service.
- Ability to work well others in a team environment.
- Experience in food service preferred, but not required.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
